The Galileo Film Festival
Cinema is a mirror by which we often see ourselves.
- Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu
And aaaaction! Welcome to Galileo's FILM FESTIVAL 2021!
Why have a Film Festival, you ask?
It's aaalll about celebrating our students and their original short films! They'll choose one theme from our five categories...
...and create, direct, act, and edit their own short films.
Once the film or movie is complete... they will submit it to our film club leader.
On Friday, October 29th all submitted films will be screened at the GALILEO FILM FESTIVAL '21. At the ceremony, students will share their films and talk about the making of the project. The festival will celebrate, honor, and recognize the creativity, skills, passion, and ideas of these creative geniuses.
And, yes, Galileo will also thank 'em for their participation and hard work by awarding The Goscar!
A few! Number one, you have to be a Galileo student to participate and a Galileo family to attend the live event.
Students will choose one theme from these five categories:
HAPPINESS - LEARNING - NATURE - MY WORLD - FUTURE
They will choose any film genre and format they like: 16:9, 1:1, 9:16 Story (Instagram or TikTok), black/white, silent film, comedy, drama, documentary, stop motion, animation, sci-fi, and more!
Students also have the option to collaborate and work as a team. And finally, the film should have a running time between 1 and 10 minutes.
What's the deadline for submissions?
Friday, October 22nd.
Can they submit more than one film?
Oh yes! The more, the merrier.
When is the festival and who can come?
The Film Festival will take place on Friday, October 29th. Everyone attending Galileo is invited to the live red carpet event at 2:00 pm UTC.
For those who are not on the VIP list (yet!), there will be an opportunity to see some of the films on our YouTube channel and the Galileo Film Club channel.
