Education Redesigned for Forward-Thinking Families

At 13 Dylan Soh started his first business with his invention the 'GIY Stick' which reuses plastic bottles and upcycled fabric to make any pot self-watering. This was Soh's first crowdfunding campaign and he raised $25,000 on Kickstarter. Now, at 17, Dylan has launched another invention into a startup business called the One Kind Block, "The world's first LEGO-like hydroponic unit designed to make cities fertile by adapting to your windows, balconies, corridors, and walls." At the time of this recording, his current Kickstarter campaign (this is the second round) has raised over $40,000 USD. If you'd like to be an OKB backer you can go here: Galileo was fortunate to have Dylan teach our students about crowdfunding in 2020 and share his knowledge with our budding young entrepreneurs. In this episode, we discuss the origins of his inventor's mindset and how he got started.
